The Kingdom of Christ Pt. 1

One of the ways to identify a true revelation is the fact that it causes all the scriptures that you normally read to jump out at you. The recent message on bible prophecy has got me examining myself daily, and assessing my priorities.

Luke 21:34-37 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

The above are the words of Jesus to His church. We are instructed to take heed to ourselves, lest we be weighed down with the cares of this life and thus His coming would catch us off guard. He noted that this can happen at any time, and this is what makes it even more fearful and sobering. It is possible to start out caring about the things of God, His ministry and His people, but then lose that sentiment and become more concerned with "life". Do you remember when Jesus said, "heaven and earth shall pass away but my words will not pass away"? (Matthew 23:35) He meant that literally. Everything that we know and tend to, everything we love about this world, or worry about, will one day pass away; and then all that will matter is whether or not you have been holy and faithful.

Seriously examine your hearts today.
