Speech

So I was reading Romans in my midnight study session last night and stumbled upon a very lengthy, verbose and nestedly written greeting that Paul wrote to the Church. I realized that even in his greeting, there was so much that he had on his heart for the people that a simple “Hi” wouldn’t suffice. Everything He said had such meaning and such truth that he could use scriptures to justify every feeling and every emotion. So much so that the greeting to the church was one sentence that spanned 7 whole verses in Romans 1!

Colossians 4:6
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

So while pondering if I’m going to replace my “Hi’s” and “What’s up’s” with 7-verse epistles of greeting, I realized that (even though maybe not so extreme), everything that we say to people must always edify! ALWAYS! God gave us the gift of speech and expression to be used for His glory and to add and build others; not to tear them down and destroy. So judge your words today and ensure that your speech is always filled with grace.

Peace be unto you. 📷
