Residing in the Fire I - A Trial of Faith

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: - 1 Peter 1:6-7

As Christians our Faith is going to be tried. During this period of testing, the devil will do everything he can to see us fall into sin. He will plant suggestions into our mind, he will seek to have us view things differently, or even despise life itself. However, all this has simply come to try your faith.

What is your faith though?

Your faith is more than just your belief in God. Your faith is what God has already done in you. You already know your God. You know of His goodness. You know He is faithful. You don't have to fight to believe these things because you already know it. Instead, what's being tried is the things He has already done in you, or rather who you are.

You are a child of the Most High God, but do you believe that? Well, a good tell tale sign is revealed in how you perceive your trials. When temptations come do you see them as a revelation of who you are, or as a foreign suggestion sent to suggest that you are something other than a holy son of God? Do you see yourself as a son of God, or as a sinner with God? If the latter, then you will always fail God.

Don't allow the devil to distract you. Serve God, by submitting to HIs word. Don't allow anything to thwart you from obedience. Reside in the fire, because it is in the heat that you will grow in the knowledge of God.
