This word right here is a big word with a big meaning; a meaning that is often overlooked. Peradventure means the same as “perhaps, possibly” or “maybe” indicating something may or may not happen. Why is this relevant? Because this word is actually in the Bible! The scripture tells us to correct those who are in sin and instruct them to repent. And if they do, peradventure, God will grant them repentance.
2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth
Have you ever considered that God may just not forgive you the next time you sin and He could have said “No” the last time you apologized to Him? He really isn’t obligated to do anything for us. That is a fact that should make you take a second thought before willingly disobeying God. I encourage you today not get into a place of complacency where you are simply sin because the door back into the Kingdom is always wide open. There may be a day when God decides that He has had enough of sin; and He decides that.
So tread lightly brothers and sisters. God is due respect today. Let us reverence our Holy God.
