In every nation, there are certain values that are upheld that make up the core of their society. We see these values expressed in their constitutions, pledges, anthems, declarations of independence and their patriotic songs. Well, the Kingdom of God is no different. Our sovereign ruler, God, has from the beginning of His rule instilled certain principles that have become core features of our Faith. For example:
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
… and so many more of these principles are littered throughout the scriptures.
So ask yourself, are you law abiding citizen? Do you operate within the boundaries of our Country? Or do you sometimes resent the laws of the land and do your own thing? Consider the last time someone broke the law and it affected you. (It might even have been in traffic this morning.) When you break the laws of the land, your fellow citizens are affected, and you are eligible for justice to be served against you. But what’s worse is that in this Kingdom, we are all united in one, living in the same Holy Ghost. (Galatians 5:25) We are all literally members of the same body. When any man sins, he sins against the whole body. And all are affected. The scriptures refers to us as a lump of dough and sin is the leaven that immediately affects the entire body.
So let us not only obey God’s law for our own souls sake, but let us be mindful of our Kingdom, our citizens and our Body; the Body of Christ
