Colossians 2:20,22
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Ephesians 2:2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
As we continue to explore our heavenly Kingdom, let us take a peek back to the kingdom we once lived in: the Kingdom of men. Our former kingdom was structured and governed by the commandments and doctrines of men. But the course of this world is further described in Ephesians as being under the control of Satan, the prince of the power of the air. We were indeed saved from out of bondage when we received the spirit of God. And not only did we receive His spirit, we died with Christ and that was our escape ticket out of this world.
So now fast-forward back to the present where you have changed citizenship to that of the Kingdom of God. We should all be in constant appreciation for our new estate. And as the scripture in Colossians reminds us, don’t subject yourself to the laws of the country you escaped from. You are no longer bound to sin and disobey God and you don’t have to live a life of condemnation and repentance from sin. You have been delivered from those ordinances so walk in your freedom. Don’t let people tell you that you are bound to sin. Not while you’re a citizen of God’s Kingdom. His citizens are free and holy and no longer a part of this world.
