He Taketh Away

ABIDING IN THE VINE SERIES - HE TAKETH AWAY - by Kashief Gordon

John 15 (KJV)

1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Have we ever asked ourselves what Jesus meant when he stated: “Every branch in him that beareth not fruit he taketh away”? Well before I illustrate what He’s saying, let us first lay a foundation first. In yesterday’s Sunrise, we shed light on abiding in Christ Jesus, by obeying whatever He commands. We have to not only understand but also embrace the fact that God has ordained and purposed each and every one of his Sons to be a light in this world, We were commissioned to bear fruit.

John15:19

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you,

Jesus is basically letting us know that in order to be a light to this world we had to be taken out of it. This explains why we were placed in a heavenly place at salvation. Simultaneously, we must be settled in our hearts with God's purpose and plan for us, at our workplaces, at home, around our family, co-workers, and/or school mates.

Our life should be manifesting the Word of God wherever we are. Don't think for one second that righteousness (Godly character) should be reserved for only a certain set of people. For your co-workers but not for your spouse; for your family members but not for strangers. We may not utter it out of our mouth but our character and our ways may reveal it to be so. The Holy Ghost is always ministering and he never ceases to minister wherever he goes.

John 15:2

If in our hearts we don’t submit to God’s purpose and plan the scripture said: Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away

When God said that, He will take away the branch, He literally means that we will be taken out of Christ. However, there is an aspect that we have not always considered. There is a path to this "taking away".

God will first, take away the anointing from your life. Persons may have been tremendously blessed by your life, and have had great spiritual respect for you. However, God will begin to remove the influence you once had in their lives. He will also remove those things that He had impacted you with to bear fruit. All the desires that were once in your heart to fulfill His will, will no longer be there.

You are no longer going to minister with a passionate anointing. Eventually, you will fail to be distinct from those that are without the Holy Spirit, and hence have robbed them of their hope. This occurs when one's heart refuses to submit, agree or obey God. Christ Jesus desires to bear much fruit through us because it's the way by which He reconciles souls unto himself.

Whatever God has placed on your heart, do not reject it, but instead agree with His desires and watch Him reveal Himself to you.
