            Day  6

*Owe nothing but Love!*

🔶Most of us spend our lives believing that we deserve the very best of everything, and that other persons are obligated to help us to achieve these things. We can actually believe that God and people owe us.

🔶These things may be  love, a position, a promotion, power,  influence, attention, affirmation, time, an apology, physical help,  money, something special or even an  opportunity to succeed.

🔶The reverse is also true. We may feel that we owe others some of these things which we really cannot deliver to them for various reasons.

🔶 The truth is, that although some things are good they may be out of God's timing and may not the way He has ordained for us to have them.

🔶 *If we stop loving  God or people because we do not get what we want, or what we believe people owe us then our love is not pure and sincere and we have stopped pleasing God.*

In this case, we are simply wanton.

Wantoness speaks of having an unbridled desire for what we want, or being lustful for that which is outside the will, timing and purpose of God for our lives.

When we are wanton we  will seek to achieve what we believe is owed to us by breaking the law of God to achieve it. While we are doing this we can never truly love others. We will begin to hurt, avoid and even abuse them to get our own way.

This is a lack of love

🔶I can recall a time when  someone disrespected me, I felt hurt and did not respond with love. There was simply no consideration for why the person may have reacted to me the way they did. Thank God for His Word. I later learnt and saw that I OWED that person love; even if they never changed. That was so liberating!

🔶To walk in pure love  we must see God as our only source, and  that we should not look for our reward from people or seek  to receive all of our reward from God in this life.  Having done our utmost best, as unprofitable servants, we should see it as simply our duty to God and people (St. Luke 17:10).

Without this mind, we will always be offended with God and with people.

 *Reflect & Respond*

What is it that you want so much from someone that you are afraid that you will not get or that has caused you to stop loving him/her? Who do you owe love today? It is time to pay up.

 *Scripture in Focus*

And hope maketh not ashamed; because *the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.*

Romans 5:5 KJV

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another (Galatians 5:13 KJV)

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law (Romans 13:8)

" *The Faith of God in you works by love"- Galations 5:6.*
