Have you ever wondered why your life is the way it is? Maybe you’ve questioned the way you grew up. You wish you could have had more. Or maybe you wondered why various hardships have come up in your life, and it have caused you to question God’s plan. What if I were to tell you that from the beginning of time, He thought out our entire existence. He knew just what family, what race, what country and what circumstances would shape your life and put you on a path that leads to him.
Ephesians 1:9-12 tells us:
Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Yesterday, we learned about God’s sovereignty; how He, being God, gets to decide where we were born and raised, the experiences we’ve had, and the boundaries that were placed in our lives. In the verses above, we learn that God prearranged everything because it was His will to do so. When you’re God, you can do that! But, it’s important for us to see that God isn’t a ruthless dictator – He is Love. Everything that He orchestrated was born out of His love for us and His desire for us to glorify Him. Today, let us begin to stop asking why, and start saying thank you! You are truly a testimony of God’s power – look how far you’ve come from! You are a living, breathing, walking, talking, moving, MIRACLE!
