Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
For the past couple months, I’ve been driving a vehicle equipped with a system called OnStar. It allows you to press a button and in a few seconds, someone will be on the line to help you to navigate your way to your destination. They send the directions to the vehicle and it takes you to where you want to go, turn-by-turn and keeps speaking to you until you get to where you need to go. As someone with a very bad sense of direction, this is a system that I know I could not have driven without. I would have gotten lost too many times to count.
It then occurred to me that in all of our lives, we have a very similar experience. There are so many routes and paths that a life can take and many of these decisions can have catastrophic effects. Sometimes this causes people to live in fear and despair, as there are so many possibilities of failure. But God also saw this scenario and has offered us His method to live. In the Psalms, David declares that it is by the Word of God that He knows what to do and where to go, and today, we have a an increase on this promise.
We have the opportunity to be led by the Word via a life that lives inside of us. Jesus wants to lead us by His Spirit to accomplish His will. He wants to take us on a journey that glorifies God. However, intellect or logical reasoning cannot do it. His Spirit accomplishes God’s redemption plan. So if you feel confused or lost today, turn your heart to Jesus. He promised to show us the way.
