What does being saved truly mean to you? Have you ever wondered why when we got Saved God did not just take us into glory? These may seem like very deep questions; however, it is important to see what God desired out of salvation. If we consider, God sent his Son to die for all, so that we may be saved and have eternal life ( this is the part we all love) but does it end there? No.
God desired to be loved by people who would love him back! It pleased the Father to send his Son to die because he knew that Jesus was the only way to procure more sons. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” John 5: 11
God now has a family through Jesus Christ, but God wants as many as will receive him to be saved. Now as heirs to the Kingdom, we must continue the work of Christ reconciling all back to the Father. We must believe in our purpose here on earth. In order to work the works of Christ here on earth, we must first believe that God can work through us and then we must also fellowship with Him in order to see and hear the “how-to’s” of this life of ministry.
John 14:12-13
Verily Verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because i go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the father may be glorified in the Son.
This is the privilege of being a son; not only does God desire to work greater works through you, he also promises that whatever you ask, he will do so that he may be glorified. Fellowship, is where we not only ask of God but where we can be confident that he hears us and that he will respond! We can approach God with confidence, but you cannot do so if you do not believe in the work that has been done in you. Hearing God requires you to first believe him, believe on him as the scriptures has said, and most importantly believe in the work that was done in you!
