Clozed on Sunday?! Why would the 5th largest fast food chain close their doors on the third busiest restaurant day of the week? Chick-Fil- A is an American based restaurant that is famous for their amazing chicken sandwiches, sauces, but most importantly, their incredible customer service. If you go into any one of their 2657 locations across the United states, you are guaranteed identical service, identical food and identical quality.
This reminds me of one of the goals of the Church. In one of the letters to the church in Corinth, Paul reminds that city’s church of one of the tenets of the Faith: Unity.
1 Corinthians 1:10
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
It was, and still is the job of the leadership of the church to maintain the standard that was set by Jesus Christ, the captain of our salvation. Corporate headquarters makes every effort to keep the standard in the restaurant business. Similarly, in the Bible we read many of the letters that were sent from the leadership to the different outposts of the Church. By reading them, we see many of the instructions given to keep the standard of the church. So let’s take a look at the letters sent throughout the New Testament and see what we can glean for the church and our own lives today.
