Border Control

If you’ve ever travelled to a different country, chances are, one of the first conversations you had in that country was with their immigration officers.  The government of that country stations officers to closely examine the people attempting to come into the country as well as what they are bringing in to see if they meet the requirements to enter. What is also interesting is that these officers are citizens of the country themselves charged with the responsibility of protecting their country’s borders.

Hebrews 11:16

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

The scripture above calls the Kingdom of God a heavenly country, and the sons of God are its citizens. And just like those immigration officers, we too are charged with defending our country.

Jude 1:3

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

We are all tasked with contending for the Faith, which is a responsibility very much like the immigration officers. If you observe, there are many forces trying to destroy and discredit the Kingdom of God. Some are wolves in sheep’s clothing seeking to draw away citizens of the Kingdom and pervert them while others are trying to destroy the laws and governments of God.

Saints, as citizens of the Kingdom, we cannot take a passive role in this. We must earnestly (with sincere and intense conviction) contend for the Faith. Gone are the days when we see the enemy of our country destroying our brothers and sisters without a challenge through doctrines and men’s ways. Consider your responsibility and take it seriously. Protect your fellow citizens and contend for the Faith today.
