Hey there Sunrisers,
After last week’s series on hearing God, I think it would be most fitting to consider some realities for the sons of God. Communicating with God and other spiritual activities reminds us that there is more to our existence than meets the eye. When you spend time talking to a God that most people can’t hear and when we are expressing our love for someone that we can’t touch with our hands and see with our eyes, it reminds us that we really aren’t from around here. We exist on a whole different dimension.
John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
When we embrace the simple truths that:
1. Jesus’ kingdom and citizenship was not planet earth (John 18:36), and
2. As Jesus is, so are we in this world, (1 John 4:17)
It begins to awaken us to how different we are from the regular humans populating this planet and suddenly we begin to detach all our affections and emotions from this world and the things in this world. Because, of a truth, all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
So join us this week as we take a tour of our kingdom: The Kingdom of God.
