Are you confident that whatever you ask of God shall be given? Because of the state of the church today, many automatically assume that “ Whatsoever you ask” is translated into “Whatever material thing you want will be given to you”. This week we have discussed that not only is it God’s desire to work the works of Christ through you, but we also have learned that God speaks to his children; He has given them everything they need to manifest what he is asking. God has chosen you amongst many others, for he knew that you would answer his call. We must see the great blessing it is to even bear the name of a Son, “ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” John 10:27. The sheep (sons) were chosen from the beginning for God knew that in time, when he made the call, his sheep would follow. If you have the Holy Spirit today, it is because you not only heard the call of your father, but you believed and followed that voice unto salvation. This was the first time you heard The Father. And now, the things of God are no longer a mystery for he reveals it to you more plainly through the Holy Spirit.
John 15:15-16 Henceforth I call you not Servants; for the servant knoweth not what his Lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
This is the reality of our fellowship: that we may know the plans of God. However, there is purpose in “Knowing the will of God” it is so that you may bring forth fruit! Not to gain material things, not to live a life of comfort and wealth here on earth, but to tell others of the riches of His Glory, to speak the Word of Life to those that are lost; that they may have hope. You are the light and life of Christ being manifested in this World and because you were chosen to work ministry, the Father has assured you that whatever is needed to further this purpose will be granted. There is no uncertainty with knowing what to ask or even what his will is because you are one with him; you have his mind and his passion for souls. We are not in strife wondering if he hears us because whatever and wherever he directs, we obey. And as we continue to obey the father he will be faithful to always reveal what things are ahead.
I hope we truly see what a blessing it is to hear God. He is always speaking to his sons, but our hearing is contingent upon obedience; and with that obedience comes a confidence in the relationship that you and your father have. God does not want us to get into situations striving to know his will or mind; he has freely revealed but are you listening?
