The Lord is so good and faithful. He knows just how to meet us at our point of need. I was in a prayer session with a group of friends, when out of nowhere the Lord started to minister on faith. After ministering to us concerning the holding up the shield of faith, he led us to this scripture.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The Lord said, to us, "Think on a Son," in other words, everything listed in Phil 4:8, are the attributes of a son of God. The Sons of God are the truth, they are honest, they are just, they are pure, they are lovely, they are the good report, they are the virtue (power) of God, and they are the praise of His glory. Look at Paul's following verse.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
All the attributes of verse 8 were found in Paul's life, and they can be found in yours if you embrace who you are. If you think on these things you are thinking as a son. Think on these things and you will always hold your shield of faith.
