The Power of the Gospel - Discerning Faith Series

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.— Romans 1:16
Paul teaches here about the power of the Gospel. The Gospel has the power to convert a sinner into a saint. It has the power to procreate, i.e create sons of God. The gospel is the Word of God.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. - Romans 10:17
Faith cometh by hearing - Before one can believe the Word of God they must first hear it. When they hear it, their conscience will bear witness that it is truth, thus developing belief in their heart.
Hearing by the Word of God - The Gospel (Word of God) has the power to cause us to perceive God’s voice. When the gospel is preached to the sinner their spiritual ears are opened to hear God. If the Gospel is ministered under the anointing, God will reveal Himself to the heart of the sinner. That revelation to the heart is what is referred to as “hearing” - which here means to perceive or to hear God with the spiritual ear.
Hereafter is the power of the gospel revealed. It has the power to save souls. When their belief is perfect God will respond to them with His power. His power is to manifest the Gospel that had been preached. He proves that the Gospel is real by responding to the believing heart after it is heard. He responds by filling them with the Holy Spirit. This is the power of God.
Thus, God responds to the faith of the unbeliever by granting him the Holy Ghost. Faith is not for material things, rather it is for things not seen, things that spring up unto eternal life.
Activity: Find scriptures that explain that the sons of God were begotten by the Word of God. Discuss them in the comments.
