The Life of a Son

The moment we receive the Holy Ghost, God sanctified us from all sin and made our souls one with His Holy Spirit. The joining of our souls to the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:17) caused a transformation of everything we are.

2 Corinthians 5:21

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Look at this scripture, Christ died so that we would be representatives of God’s righteousness. In other words, we were fashioned to be a demonstration of His nature on the earth. One thing we have to understand is that declaring publicly and openly that we are "Christian” is not enough to reveal God’s character. He desires and intends to reveal to principalities and powers His manifold wisdom, by using those that will walk in His righteousness (Word).

The Holy Ghost is the life of Christ, and this life is the only life that God deems as righteous. According to the scripture above, God made Christ to be sin for us so that we could be made His righteousness. We have to recognize that God doesn’t expect us to be at a place where we are trying to be like Christ because at salvation we were given Christ. Hence, we simply need to allow Christ in us, to have His total way through us.

1 John 1-5

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Listen to the apostle’s testimony. He could declare that God is light because he witnessed the Light of God shining in him. He believed and walked in the message that he heard, he never chided with whatever Jesus desired to do, instead, he obeyed. The only way one can be a witness of God is if they walk in the Light as He is in the Light. They must allow themselves to be totally given over to the will, purpose and commandments of God. If this is not being done, they are no longer witnesses, but rather they are serving themselves.

At salvation, we were made sinless and holy. Sin is no longer a part of us. This is why Paul could confidently say; “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh”. He said this because the Spirit the only place righteousness resides. Praise God that it is in the Spirit we live, move and have our being. Let us obey God so He can reveal Himself to us and through us.
