Welcome to Love’s Garden
Before you begin reading Chapter 1 – Let Me In, I invite you to pause and prepare your heart. This poetic story is part of Love’s Garden, a novel inspired by the beautiful poem Abba by Annestta Samuels. You can explore her work through the link provided at the end of this post. Its themes have deeply influenced this writing, and I pray the same Spirit that inspired it will minister to you as you read.
This is not a piece to rush through. It is an invitation to slow down, reflect, and listen to what God is saying. Treat it like a prayer—a time of communion with your Heavenly Father. Let each word resonate within you, allowing God to highlight areas in your heart that need His healing touch. Let Him guide you through this journey and meet you in the sacred moments of reflection.
This chapter was written in 2020, birthed in a time of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Through visions and personal reflection, I was taken to deep places that I now know are not unique to me but speak to the hearts of many. I believe the time has come for this work to be shared, and I am honored to take this step with you today.
As you read, I encourage you to leave a comment at the end of this post. Share how this chapter makes you feel, your reflections, or even your personal journey as you move through these words. I would love to hear about your experiences and how God ministers to you through this story.
Now, take a deep breath, quiet your soul, and step into Love’s Garden. He is waiting for you.
CHAPTER 1 – LET ME IN
“Gently trod the feet of Love, into the garden of your soul.”
Will you oblige Me? Just for a few moments, I have somewhere I want to take you. It has been My desire for a while now, but your time has constrained Me. So, I have come to interrupt you. I kindly ask that you pause and take this moment to follow Me.
Before we go any further, be still. Be still and know that I am your Father. Be quiet and listen. Focus on the sound. Do you hear it? My voice, whispering into your mind, flooding your consciousness, overwhelming your being.
No, don’t fight it. Do not reject it—just let it be. Let it move in you. Let it flow upon you. Hear it sing over you. It’s the song of life, the very thing you pant for. It’s the sound of My relentless love for you, the voice of My passion invading you. It leads and guides you into all truth. So be still, and the whispers of My love will flow in you like many waters.
Can you feel it? As it rushes toward your heart, dousing you with inexplicable feelings, rippling to your cheeks, lifting them ever so slightly? Wait for the feeling of My peace as it stretches toward you, reaching beyond your barricades, quenching the fires in your heart.
Will you come with Me? Let Me take you on a journey—a journey to one of My favorite places. No, you will not understand immediately, but be patient. Give Me this chance to show you.
If I am candid, you’ve been here before. Actually, almost every day. Right before you close your eyes and right after you open them. When you’re all by yourself, with a chance to think, that is when you visit. But you can’t see what I see. Nevertheless, if you come with Me this time, I will give you eyes to see the true beauty of this garden.
You have hardened yourself for so long. You have stood as a warden at the gate, keeping intruders out, fearing what they might see or take.
No, don’t turn away now. We have already begun the journey into the garden of your soul.
For this to work, I need your trust. Trust that I will never hurt you. Know, without a shadow of doubt, that I am for you and not against you. Let the light of knowledge shine in your soul—the knowledge of My heart toward you. Know the truth: I care for you deeply and always have.
Now come; follow Me to this precious place.
…
There it is. Can you see it in the distance? That gate of yours, creeping with the ivies of your fears.
For quite some time, you have pushed Me away. You’ve stuffed those deep and dark things inside yourself. They’ve never fully touched your tongue—those secrets, those experiences, your past. They’ve left you broken and bewildered. But watch Me as I move toward you. Notice how gentle I am? I will never hurt you, My child.
I have long watched you with heavy eyes. I have cried over you, and so have you. You’ve questioned yourself and questioned Me. You’ve internalized your experiences, becoming engrossed in pain. You see My precious garden as a barren wilderness, and you’ve chained the gate against hope.
Oh, what strength you have, My child. You smile when there is no joy in your heart. You laugh when your heart is cold. Daily, you seek to overcome this wilderness to maintain something they’ll accept—someone they won’t question. You deceive them, and when it’s all done, you return to this place, your wilderness, and prepare to do it all over again.
But let Me in, My darling. I can make you real. I can show you the beauty within. I can dry your tears and bring clarity to your soul. Many times, I sought to answer you, but you turned your ears from My mouth. Now, you have returned, and I have long awaited this moment. Let Me heal your broken branches and restore your withered flowers. Let Me soften your hardened ground, for good this time.
This one thing I ask of you: let down your defenses. Unchain the gate. Take Me to every corner. Let Me walk upon your entire expanse, and I will restore you.
Let Me return home, for you are My eternal desire. I will no longer ache from the pains of seeking those who will let Me in. Instead, I have found you and chosen you to worship in My Spirit.
So, lay down your arms and welcome Me.
Wow😭😭😭😭😭. This has changed my perspective on the love of God even the more. I felt the presence of God while reading, it was as if it was coming from my own heart to God and from His heart to mine. This was such a blessing. I am looking forward to the other chapters in the journey 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️❤️
