Jeremiah 10:23
O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
It is so imperative that we examine ourselves against the scripture above. Who is the one that is controlling you? If you are not being controlled by God, you are being controlled by the devil, and there is no middle ground. This is so profound because this means that as long as we are not exactly as Jesus is we are exactly as Satan is.
Galatians 5:9
A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
It is not sufficient for us to simply fast, but it is good for us to examine if we are exact expressions of the man Jesus Christ. This goes beyond just being nice people, but it is about having His love for all men. It is about being patient, kind, gentle and believing the report of the scriptures. It is about putting others before ourself at all times. If you do not walk in love toward all men, can you truly say God is directing your steps? Let us humble ourselves before the Lord so that He can establish us.
